About Tokotoko Solutions

About us

Helping to build a better future

Who we are

In 2012, Tokotoko Solutions was founded with a mission to empower individuals with the necessary skills and support to navigate their academic, professional, and personal lives so they can build a better future for themselves, their whānau and their community. It’s our mission to facilitate youth development programmes, mentoring and work ready training for young people in and around Whangarei.

What we do

Our reputation is growing, and we now have six diverse programmes designed to improve the lives of people in Te Tai Tokerau, Northland. All our services are created to equip our clients and the agencies that support them with the tools they need to achieve their goals. Our dedicated team provides a roadmap and guidance to help our clients navigate their life’s journey towards positive outcomes for all.

Why our name?

The Tokotoko is a ceremonial walking stick that holds significant cultural value in Māori tradition. As a symbol of authority and status, it is often held by the speaker during formal events on a marae. By drawing from the lessons of the Tokotoko, we symbolically pass down the Tokotoko, signifying the transfer of responsibility to our clients and provide the tools and support to help them achieve their full potential and lead a purposeful, meaningful life.

Let us help you unlock your full potential and achieve your goals. At Tokotoko Solutions, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Northland Business Excellence Awards

Tokotoko Solutions was the recipient of the EMA Recognition of Social Community Impact Award at the Northland Business Excellence Awards in November 2022. The judges said:

“Tokotoko Solutions Limited have a very clear focus on helping those who would otherwise not get help. Their purpose is to unpack the issues that have caused the situation and, however challenging, work with the individual and their whanau so they regain their sense of self-worth. They have invested in Harvest Northland as a vehicle for employment and retain a pastoral care role to ensure their clients remain in work.”
